A dazzling display of highlights!

Anniversary year with open air and family day

The finest culinary, musical and visual attractions kicked off a great anniversary celebration weekend. More than 2,000 open-air guests celebrated live one thing in particular: the Optima team spirit!

Friday, July 8, 6:00 pm. The sun was still high in the sky over Solpark in Schwäbisch Hall when the gates to the open-air grounds opened and the first Optima employees arrived at the festival grounds. Everywhere you looked you found beverage and international food booths offering refreshments and delicious treats. Far ahead on the horizon, you saw the outlines of a massive stage, framed by giant Optima anniversary displays.

Loud hellos, warm hugs and animated conversations, as well as plenty of good vibes marked the grounds. Many colleagues had not met in person for a long time. Colleagues from subsidiaries abroad were also present and the reunion after the long Coronavirus separation was joyful!

Optima CEO Hans Bühler officially welcomed the guests to the “100 Years of Future” open air event, thanked all those involved in the organization as well as the suppliers and partners – and once again strongly encouraged the guests to join in the celebrations - he didn’t need to repeat that.

Video greetings from the German and international subsidiaries provided a global atmosphere. Next came a surprise: A short film had been made, just for the
100-year anniversary in typical Optima fashion, which looked far into the future.

The story: Using the latest technology, Optima employees from the year 2122 travel back in time to ask present-day employees about the 100th anniversary in 2022, what things were like “back then” and what made the company so successful. A creative idea, carried out playfully and rewarded with ample applause. The film was dedicated to Hans Bühler, the Optima shareholders and the entire workforce.

Highlights followed highlights: Well-known bands from the region provided lively musical entertainment. A dynamic dance performance led to the visual highlight of the evening: a striking laser light show harmoniously presented in tandem with a professional fireworks display. The party went on until well after midnight, when most of the guests decided to call it a night to recharge their batteries and get ready for the Family Day.

OPTIMA Family Day

Around 4,000 guests experienced a day packed with attractions on the company premises, with delicious food and a wide-ranging program, including activities
for children and young people. Whether carving Ytong sculptures, crafting and gardening, racing or climbing in the high ropes course, there was something for everyone. Machine demonstrations, music and dance performances and much more made the event a blast
for guests.

It was a weekend of celebration that had it all and was no doubt experienced and perceived by the employees and their families just as it was meant to be: An expression of appreciation and recognition in challenging times.
